Terms and Conditions for EduWallet
Last Updated: 2026-09-06
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the EduWallet mobile application (the "Application"), a student budget and expense tracker published by LazyByte ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or otherwise using the Application, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2. Eligibility
The Application is not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and you may not use it if you are under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Application only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. By using the Application, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Description of the Service
EduWallet helps students track personal and college-related expenses, record and monitor loans and repayments, set budgets and goals, view spending reports and charts, and optionally sync this information to a cloud account so it is available across devices. Certain features are offered only through a paid subscription (see Section 6). We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
4. Accounts and Authentication
Some features require an account. You may sign in using Google Sign-In or another supported authentication method. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information and keeping it up to date.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and your device.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
Notify us promptly at support@lazybyte.in if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.
Guest mode. You may use the Application without a Google or Apple account by choosing "Continue as Guest". A guest session is an anonymous, temporary account: its identifier cannot be recovered once you sign out, exit guest mode, or remove the Application, and it is automatically deleted, along with any data synced under it, after 30 days of inactivity. To retain guest data, link a Google or Apple account before exiting guest mode. We are not responsible for guest data that is lost because the session was not linked to a permanent account.
5. Your Data and Content
You retain ownership of the financial information and other content you enter into the Application ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the Application to you, including syncing it to your cloud account. For EduWallet Pro (premium) subscribers, receipt images you attach to expenses are included in Your Content and are uploaded to and stored in Google Firebase Cloud Storage as part of cloud sync; the same ownership, license, and responsibility terms apply to those images.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of Your Content. You are strongly encouraged to keep your own records and back-ups. We are not responsible for any loss, corruption, or inaccuracy of data, including data that fails to sync or is lost due to device failure, uninstallation, or account deletion.
6. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing
Premium subscription. EduWallet offers an optional premium subscription that unlocks additional features. Pricing, billing period, and included features are displayed in the Application at the time of purchase.
Payment and processing. All purchases are processed by the applicable app store (Google Play or the Apple App Store) and are subject to that store's terms. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your app store account will be charged for renewal within the 24-hour period before the period ends.
Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play or Apple App Store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period, and you retain premium access until the end of the paid period.
Refunds. Refunds are handled solely by the app store in accordance with its policies. We do not directly control or issue refunds for app store purchases.
Free trials and promotions. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. We may change or discontinue trials and promotional offers at any time.
7. Not Financial Advice
EduWallet is a self-help tool for personal budgeting and expense tracking. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, or lending advice, and nothing in the Application constitutes a recommendation or solicitation to enter into any financial transaction. Loan figures, interest calculations, projections, budgets, and reports are estimates generated from the information you provide and may contain errors or simplifying assumptions. You are responsible for verifying all figures and should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. We are not a bank, lender, or financial institution.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Application for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the Application, except to the extent permitted by law.
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Application, our servers, or the backend services we use.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that contains malware.
- Use automated means to access the Application or resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit it without our written permission.
9. Intellectual Property
The Application, including its software, design, branding, "EduWallet" and "LazyByte" names, logos, text, and graphics, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10. Third-Party Services
The Application relies on third-party services, including Google Sign-In, Google Play services, Firebase (authentication and cloud storage), and the app stores' billing systems. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of third-party services. The Application may also contain links that open external websites or apps; we do not endorse and are not responsible for their content.
11. Availability and Changes
We provide the Application on an "as available" basis and may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of it, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice. We may also release updates that you must install to keep using the Application. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Application or any feature.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Application is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of data loss, or that any calculations or reports will be accurate.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and except where such limitation is not permitted, we and our affiliates and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Application, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Application will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Application in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 20 (or its equivalent).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LazyByte and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Application, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Application and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Application. Upon termination, your right to use the Application ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, and 9–14) will survive.
Guest (anonymous) sessions and their associated data are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity, and immediately when you choose to exit guest mode. This deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above and may provide additional notice within the Application. Your continued use of the Application after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence, the courts located in India will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Application.
