These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and LazyByte Labs, operated by Ikramul Hossain Mondal ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Exam Countdown & Study Planner mobile and desktop application (the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download or use the App.

1. About the App

Exam Countdown & Study Planner is a personal productivity application that helps students manage their exam preparation through countdown timers, syllabus tracking, focus session timers, AI-powered study assistance ("Diya AI"), revision scheduling, cloud sync, and related features.

The App is available on:

iOS — via the Apple App Store
Android — via the Google Play Store
Windows — via the Microsoft Store

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has used the App, we will take steps to remove their data.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, LazyByte Labs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
Use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its connected services.

4. Feature Tiers

The App operates on a Freemium model with three distinct purchase tiers:

Important: The Premium Lifetime purchase unlocks local app themes and cosmetic features only. Diya AI and Cloud Sync require an active AI Pro subscription and are not included in the Lifetime purchase.

5. Subscriptions, Pricing & In-App Purchases

5.1 Subscription Plans

The App offers auto-renewable subscription plans and a one-time Lifetime purchase option. Plans, pricing, and trial periods vary by platform and region.

Apple App Store (iOS)

Subscriptions are offered through Apple's In-App Purchase system and are subject to Apple's payment terms. The following plans are available:

Important (iOS): Your iTunes/Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time by going to:
App Store → Your Profile → Subscriptions → Exam Countdown

No refund will be provided for the unused portion of a current subscription period at the time of cancellation.

Free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Google Play Store (Android)

Subscriptions are offered through Google Play's In-App Billing system and are subject to Google's payment terms. Pricing, plans, and trial periods on Android may differ from iOS due to platform pricing policies.

You can manage and cancel your Android subscription at any time by going to:
Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions

Microsoft Store (Windows)

In-app purchases on Windows are processed through the Microsoft Store and are subject to Microsoft's payment and refund policies. Pricing on Windows may differ from iOS and Android.

5.2 Pricing

Prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase within the App or the respective app store. Pricing may vary by:

Platform (iOS, Android, Windows)
Region or country (based on local currency and applicable taxes)
Promotional offers or introductory pricing

LazyByte Labs reserves the right to change subscription prices at any time. If pricing changes, we will notify you in advance and your continued subscription will reflect the new pricing at the next renewal cycle.

5.3 Free Trials

Free trial periods (if/where available) are offered once per user, per platform. If you have previously used a free trial for a subscription tier on a given platform, you may not be eligible for another free trial on that same platform.

5.4 Lifetime Purchase

The Premium Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that grants you access to local app themes and cosmetic customization features for the lifetime of the App.

Please note: The Premium Lifetime purchase does not include Diya AI, Cloud Sync, or advanced analytics. These features require an active AI Pro subscription (Monthly or Yearly).

Lifetime purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the relevant app store's refund policy.

5.5 Refunds

All purchases are subject to the refund policy of the platform through which you made the purchase:

LazyByte Labs does not directly handle payment or refund transactions.

6. Account and Cloud Sync

Cloud Sync is an optional premium feature that requires signing in with a Google account. By enabling Cloud Sync, you authorize us to store your study data (subjects, chapters, sessions, notes, tasks, profile) in Firebase Cloud Firestore associated with your account.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You may sign out at any time to stop syncing.
You may request permanent deletion of your cloud data by contacting us.

7. Diya AI (AI-Powered Features)

The Diya AI features are powered by third-party AI providers (Google Gemini / DeepSeek). When using Diya AI:

You agree not to use the AI to generate harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content.
AI-generated responses are for informational and study assistance purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional academic advice.
We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated responses.
Chat history is stored locally on your device and is not shared with our servers.

8. User Conduct

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

Attempt to circumvent any security feature of the App.
Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation.
Share, transfer, or resell your subscription or account access to others.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, branding, and features of the App are the intellectual property of LazyByte Labs, protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in or to the App other than the limited license described in Section 3.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services including:

Firebase (Google) — Analytics, Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions
RevenueCat — Subscription management (iOS & Android)
Google Sign-In — Account authentication
DeepSeek AI / Google Gemini — AI features
Apple App Store / Google Play / Microsoft Store — Payment processing

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party services.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Any defects or errors in the App will be corrected.
The App or its server are free of viruses or other harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LazyByte Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or study progress — arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App or any premium feature at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:

Violates these Terms.
Is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Violates any applicable law or regulation.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. If your access is terminated due to a violation on your part, you will not be entitled to a refund.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

16. Apple-Specific Terms (iOS Users)

If you are using the App on an iOS device, the following additional terms apply and, in the event of any conflict, shall supersede the general terms above:

Acknowledgement: These Terms are between you and LazyByte Labs only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
Scope of License: The license granted is a limited, non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
Maintenance and Support: LazyByte Labs, not Apple, is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for the App.
Warranty: In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
Product Claims: LazyByte Labs, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
Intellectual Property Rights: In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, LazyByte Labs, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of such a claim.
Third-Party Beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Compliance: You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
